I don't have a TV. I do have IPTV, but that is a different story. As a result I listen to the radio a lot. It is a really nice habit to get into around the house. TV is such a vegetative medium. Radio lets you remain otherwise occupied while still keeping in touch with the world. It is also nice in that you can run multiple radios at reasonable volume throughout the house so you can move around without missing anything. Sure you can do the same with TVs, but at what expense?
I currently have a Sangean 909 which is about as good as a radio can get in a portable package. The audio is a bit muddy at times, although you can switch the tone to 3 well thought out settings, it does leave a lot to be desired. Am going to mod the audio shortly which will make it more or less perfect.
But damn, I want to get a Tivoli. A crazy price for something with only 3 knobs. Amazing audio (Askew have them locally). The PAL (above) is what i would get if I could only get one, but I want one of the whole range really.
The Model Three alarm clock model is beautiful. You can get an extension speaker with a separate alarm clock built in so a couple can have 2 alarms set. My relationship is worth the expense.....
